So, the Museo de Antropologia in Xalapa in Northern Veracruz, Mx, is the 2nd best collection in the country. Most of interest, is that it’s almost entirely a collection of Olmec work, conservatively dated to have originated in 1600 BC and dubbed the “mother culture” of virtually all the later cultures in Mx. Aside from the numerous colossal heads of apparent African influence, we found a decidedly Asian influence in a lot of their work.
